Libya oil production: monthly output and OPEC share
Libya is one of the most volatile crude producers in the world: output can swing by hundreds of thousands of barrels per day in a single month. This page tracks Libyan crude oil production month by month from official open data, sets it against the OPEC members we cover, and documents exactly where every number comes from.

Monthly crude oil production
The series below is Libyan crude oil production in thousand barrels per day (kb/d), as published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration and ingested directly from the EIA open-data API. The change column makes month-on-month disruptions visible: sustained moves usually reflect field or terminal status, while single-month dips are often maintenance or weather-driven loading delays.
This series has no published observations yet.
Libya inside OPEC
To place Libyan output in context we track crude production for the OPEC members covered by EIA international data and compute Libya's monthly share of that covered group. Libya has no production quota under the current OPEC arrangements, so its share moves with domestic field availability rather than with group policy decisions.

How to read the numbers
Crude production series are revised. EIA restates recent months as company and government submissions arrive, so a figure you saw last month may differ slightly today; we always serve the current vintage rather than a frozen snapshot. Production is also not the same as exports — barrels can go to domestic refineries or into storage. Our companion page on Libya crude exports covers the loading side.
